This weekend as I packed for a reading during a weekend at my parents, I pulled Teri Brown's Read My Lips from the middle of my to read stack. I have always enjoyed the idea of the rise to popularity and whether or not it is all worth it if you have to give up a part of who you really are. I loved the unique part of this story that Serena's road to popularity is facilitated by her ability to read lips, giving the in crowd loads of gossip they would never find out otherwise. To make it even better, there was plenty of romance in the book. Brown's debut novel was a hit, and I was glad that I chose it this weekend. Teri Brown also has a fun website.
